Christmas 2010

We drove to New Mexico this year for Christmas, Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at Tom’s mother’s house, then Christmas afternoon at Sara’s parents’ house. Tom and I left Ana with my parents the day after Christmas and flew to Chicago for three nights to visit our friends Brian and Lindsay and celebrate my birthday. We had a great time hanging out in the city and seeing Wicked for the first time. We went back to NM and picked up Ana and after a day of snow delay we drove back to San Diego. Lots of traveling but all in all a great time we had.

We went to one of our favorite streets that all the houses decorate for the holidays and Ana loved the lights. We walked around and she kept wanting to go into people’s driveways and yards.

We also went to the San Diego Zoo again this year for their Jungle Bells holiday nights and saw Santa. Ana did well, she mostly wanted to play with the stuffed animals next to Santa. We did go back to try to get better pictures with our camera but she started to freak out the second time. We did go on the skyfari tram thing there and she loved it. Ana loves all the Christmas lights!

Holiday celebration at the Del

The Hotel del Coronado here lights up their hotel every year and it's one of my favorite things to go to. This year they had a celebration we went to that had the outdoor ice skating rink (which we didn't do) games and fireworks. Ana loved the fireworks!

Thanksgiving 2010

Happy late Thanksgiving! This year I cooked a full meal again and we had some friends over to share the meal. Our friend Derina's dad was visiting from Ireland and this was his first taste of this American holiday. It was also Ana's first Thanksgiving where she could actually eat the meal (and the leftovers).























Also this weekend we went up to the town of Julian, CA (a small, old mining town in the mountains east of San Diego) to enjoy their famous apple pie. It also happened to be their tree lighting ceremony, but we bailed because it was tooooooo cold to wait. Later we put up our tree, Ana was a very good helper.
