Today we took our first trip to the beach this summer. It was Ana's first trip to the beach. The water was warm and the marine layer was in so nobody got sun burned. It was a fun trip. Ana was probably familiar with the sound of the ocean, because it is one of the sounds we play overnight while she sleeps (along with rain and crickets). She was not afraid as I held her and the waves came in, splashing up to my knees. When I dipped her toes in she seemed perfectly content. Maybe she intuitively knows San Diego girls are supposed to love the beach. Here are some photos:

Day at the zoo

Jenny, Rodney and Paxton visited this weekend and we spent Saturday at the SD Zoo. Ana was passed out most of the time, as you can see this was what she looked like.

Day at the races

Yesterday we went to the Del Mar races with our friends Jason & Taryn. Ana got in the spirit by wearing her hat too. This weekend Jenny, Rodney and Paxton come to visit and then next week Grandma Bena, Nanny and Aunt Cathy are here. Should be lots of fun to see everyone.

6 1/2 weeks along

Ana is now 6 1/2 weeks old, she is growing great. Now that she is this old she is able to go to the YMCA childcare while I work out for a couple of hours. She has done great so far and it is nice to get moving again. Also this week Uncle Chandler came for a quick visit and after seeing her he says he now loves her. His gift was a Bumbo chair that will help Ana get stronger to sit up. So far she is ok with sitting in the chair but not happy with it for very long.
